Vision / Mission of the Department

Vision/ Mission of the Department

  • With companion animals having tremendous emotional value and the financial viability of pumping in capital into research that improves their quality of life; canine research has grown in leaps and bounds globally. In India, it’s a young field with tremendous potential.
  • With ever expanding knowledge based on medical equipment, diagnostic techniques, drug chemistry etc. more service units will be created for different health and surgical conditions.
  • Either due to modified life styles attributed to their pet parents or due to greater awareness and diagnosis, canine cancer numbers are on the rise. Oncology research will include safer and better chemotherapeutic drugs, determining which cancers are genetic in origin and working towards gene modification as a method of cancer control and creating better drugs for palliation.
  • Research into improved and more efficient diagnostic and therapeutic modalities along with minimally invasive procedures with a strong focus on maintaining cost effectiveness would be a future goal for on-ground veterinary work.
