About Nagpur Veterinary College
Nagpur veterinary College was established on 1st July 1958. Late Hon,ble Shri Y. B. Chavan, the then Chief Minister of the Govt. Of Bombay inaugurated this college in the convocation Hall of Nagpur University. The college was named as Nagpur Veterinary College, on the similar line as Bombay Veterinary College. Initially the Departments of Anatomy, Physiology and Animal Husbandry were established and then other departments in phases were established. In 1968 this college was affiliated to Nagpur University and the administrative control was with the state department of Animal Husbandry.

There shall be four professional examinations- one each after 1 st, 2 nd, and 3 rd year and the fourth after one and half year and these professional examinations shall have only the theory component with external system and the practical component shall be dealt with internally.

Experience
Nagpur Veterinary College has a separate in-campus hostel for Girls and Boys. The Chief Warden and Assistant Hostel Wardens administer the daily hostel management. Nagpur Veterinary College Girls hostel has Old and New building with accommodation of 48 and 80 students respectively. The hostel offer exemplary facility and a serene environment that is conducive to the growth of both mind and body. The institution has a good number of resident students coming from different parts of the state and outside state as well.
