As per the direction of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has prepared the Regulations on ‘Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions 2009’ [under Section 26(1)(g) of the of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956] and same is implemented at our institute.
The Anti-Ragging Committee is instituted to ensure compliance with the provisions of the regulations. The committee investigate complaints and also, monitor and oversee the performance of the Anti-Ragging Squad in prevention of ragging in the institution.
The Anti-Ragging Committee at our institute is involved in designing strategies and action plan for curbing the menace of ragging. The committee also conducts awareness programmes.
The Anti-ragging Squad is constituted to maintain vigil, oversight and patrolling functions and shall remain alert and active at all time. Accordingly, this squad in empowered to make surprise raids on Hostels and other places vulnerable to incidents having the potential of ragging.
